What is it?
RSES Internships are designed to provide an introduction to the research environment for students with the interest and potential to undertake a higher degree by research.
You will be able to spend your semester and summer breaks working in a field that inspires you.
Who can Apply?
Undergraduate BSc students enrolled in an Australian or New Zealand University.
Pre-Requisites
You will have an excellent track record in Earth Science related subjects, such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, biology, astronomy, geology and/or geophysics
At a minimum you will be in your second year of study, or second or third year if you are undertaking a double degree program.
Tenure
The intern will have a maximum of 12 months to undertake the internship and must commit to a min of 2 months and a max of 3 months. Interns are able to complete the program in one block or several small ones.

Note: These projects are an indication of the topics available, you should contact your prospective supervisor asap to discuss the details of the project.

Pay rates:
-
Domestic ACT students: will be paid $29.18 per hour
- Interstate / International students: will be paid $32.38 per
hour
**Note: Interstate / International students are paid at a higher rate to provide support for living expenses in Canberra**

All applications MUST include - Transcripts, a letter of support from the prospective supervisor as well as an external reference (The reference from an external candidate can be anyone that you have previously worked with or are working with now, it cannot be from the prospective supervisor as they are providing a letter of support).
You will need to contact an external referee as well as the prospective supervisor and request that they send the referee report/support letter to the Student Officer at the address given above.
